Taking Care Of Your Hair During Festival Season

Taking Care Of Your Hair During Festival Season

We’re already in the thick of our Australian summer festival season with nothing but good vibes and plenty of awesome music.  If you have been holding off, this means you should be nice and ready to put in some serious hours on the grassy d-floor over the next few months!

While it’s important to stay hydrated, properly fed, and well rested, you shouldn’t forget to take care of your hair during festival season! Among all the chaos and activity, you’ll want to make sure your mane is getting proper care because even if your festival outfit is awesome, you won’t feel great if your hair is not on point as well.

Be Sun Smart

You will inevitably be exposed to lots of sun while sweating up a storm which will be taxing on your delicate tresses, so prepare your hair beforehand by giving yourself a deep conditioning treatment. While you’re away, pack some coconut oil that you can wear as an over-night mask. You can also use it for texture and styling during the day, and slather on your skin as moisturiser and sun protection as well.

Be A Good Girl Scout

Prepare your clip ins! Meaning, get ‘em looking good beforehand so you can get on with the business of having an awesome time without having to waste it on fixing your hair. Curl your hair extensions so they’re ready to go, by spraying them with a heat protectant and using your smallest curling wand to make the tightest ringlets possible. Finish off with hairspray to ensure they keep their hold. This way they’ll last a few days and fall out slowly, turning into nice, loose curls by the end, perfect for whipping back and forth!

Pack Light, Pack Well

Pack the right products, so you won’t be left stranded with dry, frazzled looking hair. You’ll want a good hair oil such as Argan for styling and smoothing flyaways. Dry shampoo is essential in order to add texture and take care of salty sweaty roots from dancing all night long. Finally, miniature sized bottles of good quality shampoo and conditioner are essential and won’t take up too much luggage space but will ensure your hair stays fresh and shiny.
