Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Hack
Many foods are touted for their health and wellness properties, but Apple Cider Vinegar is one you probably wouldn't usually associate with hair benefits. So let's look at what's so good about it and why you should try this apple cider vinegar hair hack on your hair.
Skin irritation
Apple Cider Vinegar is praised for being rich in vitamins and minerals good for hair, along with vitamin C and B. Some also claim it contains alpha-hydroxy acid, which helps exfoliate scalp skin, and that it's also anti-inflammatory, which can help improve skin conditions and irritation.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Apple cider vinegar has the potential to lower PH and boost hair health. Because most shampoos tend to be highly alkaline (which can contribute to breakage and dryness), lowering alkalinity can, therefore, improve overall hair health.
The test
I am an absolute gym bunny, sweating it out every day of the week, which means a daily hair washing routine. Daily washing has wreaked havoc, causing split ends, dry and dull looking hair.
After learning about the benefits of using Apple Cider Vinegar as a hair rinse, I decided to test it out myself. I have to say, I'm not a fan of the smell, but after diluting in a 50/50 water to vinegar ratio and adding a few drops of essential oil, it was totally fine. After just two weeks my hair has become noticeably softer, shinier and healthier looking. My verdict? It works!
