How to Prevent Dullness and Boost Shine in your Tresses
I’m a firm believer that knowledge is the key to success, and that goes for all things involving my hair too. Let’s face it if your hair isn’t in good condition your mane will fail to look awesome no matter which way you work it.
DO YOUR HAIR-HOMEWORK
When it comes to keeping my locks healthy and shiny I’ve saturated myself with hair health knowhow in the belief that this will keep my mane in tip-top condition. So far, it seems to be working. The more I know about how to keep my hair looking healthy and shiny, the easier it is to treat it with the right kind of care required to keep it looking bouncy, soft, and sheeny all year long. But there is one particular thing that is so important that I’ll get into right now…
USE QUALITY PRODUCTS
Know your hair! If you’ve recently had it coloured and you’re noticing it’s becoming dull and lacklustre, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure out it needs a little extra TLC. Ask yourself, what are you doing in your hair routine that you could change? Are you washing it too often, stripping your tresses of their natural oils and minerals? If this is the case, cut back on your shampooing and conditioning and give your hair a breather. If you’re using a top-quality product like X-Ten Shampoo and X-Ten Conditioner and are using them properly, you should be able to stretch the time you wash your hair out to a few days at least, with the help of some dry shampoo and a few strategically crafted hairstyles.
Ask yourself if you’re not washing it enough. Allowing excess dirt, grime, and product build-up to cause more damage than good. All those hair oils, serums, and my personal favourite, dry shampoo, are excellent tools to keep your mane looking fantastic when they’re used right. Over time they will weigh down your tresses though, causing them to look limp and dull. You’ll be amazed at the difference it will make once you start shampooing more regularly.
