Hair Trends For Australian Brides 2021

Hair Trends For Australian Brides 2021

Traditionally spring and autumn are the most popular seasons to plan a wedding, with October and April being the most popular months. But really, any season is wedding season, particularly so this year for all the lovely brides-to-be who had their dreams put on hold in 2020.

Solidly booked stylists and venues are accommodating brides who had to postpone last year along with those who had already planned their wedding for this year.

This means, with so many weddings on the go, it seemed natural to chat with some stylists who regularly use Medusa Hair Extensions to find out which hair trends they see emerging for brides in Australia in 2021.  As we were writing this, we also discovered the gorgeous work of Sydney Stylists and Educator, Cara Clyne. Scroll down to enjoy her work!

Hair Accessories

Accessories have been hugely popular for everyday style during the last few years. As a result, we notice a rise in wedding day hair accessories for an extra-special, embellished touch. We are especially loving the tight updos and gorgeous low buns accessorised with beautiful pearls, decorative clips and vintage hair ornaments.

Statement Headband

This is one for the fashion-forward bride. Headbands are a modern and easier-to-pull-off alternative to crowns and tiaras. If your bridal look is fashion-focused, take a look at Danish brand Jannie Baltzer. Their bridal headbands, like the Dasha Silk Headband, are a fresh take on classic bridal looks. While you’re there, check out their swoon-worthy veil collection.

Lived In Waves

Changing gear from high maintenance glamour to low key, lived-in sophistication. Many women have turned their backs on bigger, bolder and more expensive everything, favouring natural-looking beach waves and pared-back gowns this year. This relaxed, sophisticated style matches the collective shift in the psyche we are currently experiencing.

Hollywood Glamour

If you’ve always wanted to channel your inner Hollywood starlet, then this glam style is for you. And for a slightly different take, we’ve included some side glam waves.

Ponytail

There are some styles that buck the trends, and the ponytail is one. This classic is only made better with the help of either a ponytail extension or clip in hair extension wefts. Smooth and sleek on top and business at the back to balance things out.

Veiled Beauty

Even though you probably won’t wear your veil all day, many brides can’t resist the initial “wow” factor when they walk down the aisle. But remember, if you choose to wear a veil, or a dress with a train, go easy on the jewellery and accessories.
