Mum’s Deserve More on Mother’s Day!

 In Special Occasions

Mother’s Day is coming up on Sunday, May 9th, so now seems like a good time to remind you that just like a trip to the beauty therapist for a round of personal admin, hair extensions are no longer just for ultra-glamorous celebrities and Instagram influencers. You deserve more than thin, whispy hair and fluffy slippers this Mother’s Day Mumma, and we’re going to explore why!

Let’s dive into a meaningful conversation around the stereotypical image of a ‘mum’. Seriously, if you were to trust most brands around Mother’s Day, you would believe that all mums only care about kitchen appliances, printed pyjamas and cheap smelly candles and perfume.

Busting myths about mum’s

We’re all mums here at Medusa, and we can tell you something for nothing. Mother’s Day falls only one day a year, so it had better count! Hand your phone over, your partner and kids need to take note of the following tips:

Tip no. 1 – Us mums mostly only enter the kitchen out of absolute necessity; therefore, gifted cooking appliances will probably mean you get to hear about your fail at every dinner party for the next 20 years.

Tip no. 2 – What actually are pyjamas, and who admits to wearing fluffy slippers?? Let’s be honest though if we weren’t seen, it didn’t happen!

Tip no. 3 – We only burn hand-poured soy candles embued with fragrances made by a French perfumer using the highest quality essential oils. So unless that’s what is sitting on the table on the second Sunday of May, I wouldn’t even.

Tip no. 4 – Becoming a mum doesn’t automatically mean we lose all desire to look and feel good! Looking good just needs to be made virtually effortless. This is a hint.

Tip no. 5 – If you want a peaceful life, forget you ever heard of André Rieu.

Our top gift ideas for Mother’s Day

Laughs aside, a little bit of luxury and nurturing goes a long way because most mums consistently put their partners, work, home and children first. If we are being pampered on Mother’s Day, we would at least prefer it to be in a way that doesn’t require us to fake smile. Smiling when you’re not happy is hard to pull off!

Here are some of our favourite gift ideas to help your loved ones make this Mother’s Day one to remember for all the right reasons:

  1. A massage voucher at a day spa
  2. A dinner reservation at our favourite restaurant (without the kids)
  3. A weekend away with our girlfriends
  4. A bottle of something nice and a beautiful bunch of flowers
  5. Clip-in hair extensionsa halo or a clip in ponytail to help us feel fab with minimum fuss if invited to anything more than a kids play date.

At Medusa, we have tons of easy, readily available hair extension options you can put in yourself, including clip-ins and halo styles. All will give your hair added length, volume, and body in just a few simple steps and take no longer to apply than a quick application of makeup. Makeup, beauties, remember what that was?

Happy Mumma love,

Medusa 🌸 xx
