We all love sunshine, surf, and partying the hot nights away, and we love doing it all with great hair! Unfortunately, after a while, our hair doesn’t love the good times quite as much as we do. Getting treatments from salons is great for your hair but can be a little expensive after a while. Fortunately, we’ve sourced a few different recipes for a DIY hair mask for dry hair this summer that can be made simply and easily with items you probably already have in your kitchen, using no more than 2 ingredients!
Coconut Oil And Honey Mask
Great for: prevention of dandruff and soothing dry and itchy scalp. Deep conditioning and restorative properties for sun-damaged hair.
Mix 1 tablespoon coconut oil and 2 teaspoons of honey
Massage into scalp and ends. Be generous with the ends as this is where most of the damage to the hair lies. Wrap a towel around your head and let sit for 30 minutes before rinsing off.
Olive Oil And Egg Yolk Mask
Great for: deep conditioning, strengthening hair strands and preventing breakage, hair loss prevention.
Mix 1 egg yolk with 1 tablespoon of olive oil
After massaging into hair and scalp, cover with a disposable shower cap/plastic bag and let sit for 15 minutes. Rinse off THOROUGHLY in COLD WATER ONLY – hot water can result in cooked bits of egg left in your hair! Finish with organic shampoo and conditioner.
Avocado And Banana Mask
Great for: promoting shine, hair growth, and hair loss prevention. Prevention of split ends and hair breakage promotes hair elasticity.
Mix half an avocado with 2 ripe bananas in a food processor until smooth and completely free of lumps.
Massage into scalp and ends and cover with a shower cap. Leave for 15 minutes, rinse thoroughly. No need to shampoo or condition.
