Get Textured Hair Without Using Hot Tools

Achieving a cool, textured hair has never been easier than now. And there are so many wonderful products available that will not only help your hair look amazing, but are kind to your strands too, that it’s possible to do it without causing unnecessary damage to your hair with a blow dryer or heating tools.

The secret is to work with the natural texture that you already have, and the best place to start is with a fantastic haircut. If you don’t have a really great haircut, to begin with, you’re going to struggle to get your hair looking the best it could. Choppy layers look great on all face shapes and most hair types, and layers make the perfect base for a messy textured style.

Dry shampoo is great for adding texture, and a good first step. Flip your hair over and spray it at the roots to help it get some lift and body, then flip it back and spray some more without rubbing it in to add more volume and a natural looking unevenness.

Spray sea salt spray into your tresses and scrunch them up with your hands. This will give them texture and hold, and the spray will help to enhance and bring out any natural wave and curl that your hair already has.

If you’ve worn your hair in braids the day before, sleep in them, then take them out the next morning and see how you can play around and style the waves you’ve effortlessly created overnight.

If you want even more definition and a piecey look, you’ll want to incorporate pomade into your styling routine. Take a small dollop and rub between your hands to warm it up, then scrunch it through your hair for a sexy, surfer-girl textured hair finish.
