It’s October, which means it’s time to bust out your creative skills and have some fun playing dress up for this year’s Halloween!
If you’ve been racking your brain for some original costume ideas and have found yourself lacking inspiration, here are two awesome suggestions, plus an easy how-to guide for the hairstyle that goes with each one.
Betty Cooper
Emulate the Riverdale High cutie by wearing whichever of the fictional socialite’s outfits you prefer, none of which would be complete without her iconic ponytail, which is easy to re-create with a Medusa clip in ponytail hair extension.
To get Betty’s perky pony, start by backcombing a section of your hair from the top sides of your head at the front near your ears and forehead to give it a little boost of volume. Then pull your hair back and up and secure it with a hair tie high on top of your head, giving it a little tug at the sides and the back but not touching it from the front.
Now, take your ponytail hair extension and slide the comb on the hairpiece into your ponytail and tie it on with the attached ribbons.
To finish, create some big curls in the tail with your curling tongs, and spray the whole ‘do with a light hairspray to keep every strand in place.
Daenerys Targaryen
To get a braided crown hairstyle fit for a queen you’ll need an ice-white wig to begin with, unless you have the right hair colour, in which case you’ll want a 7 piece clip-in set of hair extensions in #60.
Start by applying your extensions, bearing in mind you’ll be braiding the hair at the front and drawing it back from the face so be sure to clip them starting low so they’ll stay out of sight.
Now add some curls into your hair with your tongs.
Leaving the front section of your hair free, start twisting your hair from one side of the parting, incorporating more hair as you go along, all the way to the nape of your neck, then tie it with a hair tie.
Repeat on the other side, then tie the two pieces together, and thread it all through with a beautiful jewelled necklace.
