Hair in 2016 was a lot of fun; we were loving ombre, diving into mermaid waves and the lob was on fire! Now 2017 is shaping up to be the sexiest and coolest year yet. Here is what the fashionistas are predicting is going to be hotter than your curling tongs this year:
Long, sleek and straight
Ultra-long, straight and shiny with a centre part is set to be huge in 2017. Most recently we’ve seen A-listers Rihanna and Karlie Kloss photographed around town modelling this Cher-inspired trend. Hair extensions are key to giving necessary volume and length to this do. Use a heat protectant before you use your flat iron and apply a shiny serum to get that enviable glossy finish.
The high slick pony
Slick your hair back and up. Way, way up. Done in rumpled texture or stick-straight, the high ponytail adds both an elegance and ease to every ensemble. Use a clip on ponytail to thicken your pony or apply your clip in hair extensions as normal. If you are planning to use your regular hair extensions underneath your pony, clip them in upside down to ensure smooth hair from the nape of the neck up to the hair tie.
Sienna Miller and Blake Lively get our vote for excellence in braiding their hair to complement their effortlessly boho chic style. The number of ways you can style braided hair in a boho fashion is limited only to your imagination. For example, you can wrap a thick braid woven with flowers around your head, have a thin braid running down your centre part (known as a unicorn braid), or have two messy and voluminous fishtails on either side. Hair extensions are great for big chunky plaits so don’t be afraid to experiment with yours.
