How To Create A Romantic Valentine’s Day Hairstyle

Valentine’s Day is almost here. And even though, if you’re reading this blog post, you don’t need an excuse to have fun playing around styling your hair – you might want to look extra cute for somebody special tonight.

Because I love to spread the good vibes when I’m onto something sweet, I’m going to share with you my favourite V-day, and what I think is a very romantic, hairstyle. It’s actually the one that I’ll be wearing this February 14th, when I’m heading out to celebrate with my guy. I love it because it’s not too difficult to create, and looks particularly great after adding some long, voluminous, Medusa Hair Extensions.

It’s a small side fishtail braid to one side, with the rest of my hair down, and here’s how you do it…

If you need to, apply your clip-ins first thing.

Take the top half of one side of your hair and section it off: this will be your fishtail braid. Tie the rest of your hair off to one side and out of the way.

Grab the section you’re going to braid and separate it into two halves.

To do a fishtail braid, you take the outside pieces of each section and bring them across to the other side. Take about 2cm worth of hair, and cross it over to the other side. You can also grab bigger, then smaller pieces of hair as you go, to give it a casual, messier feel.

Once you get to the end of the braid, take a tiny elastic and wrap it around once or twice, so it’s still loose enough to start pulling out pieces from the bottom up.

Start by grabbing the outer sections of your braid and give them a slight pull. This will loosen them up, and make the braid appear bigger, and fuller.

To finish, add some soft waves to the front of your hair, and backcomb the rest of your hair to give it some volume.
