What Your Hair Says About You

What Your Hair Says About You

If you’ve ever wondered if the length, colour, cut, or style of your hair is in any way indicative of your personality traits, you’re correct. Well, to some extent at least. The following examples are to be taken more as a general rule than as a rule of thumb, but if any of it resonates with you, it’s because these correlations (between hair and personality) are widely accepted as the norm and have been for some time.

Example one: The pixie haircut:

Is owned by women who exude confidence. It usually imbues one of two ideas of a woman: on the one hand, a short-haired gal can say she’s confident, professional, a no-fuss-required, lets-get-down-to-business type (Hillary Clinton). Or, she’s elegant, avant-garde, timeless, and classic (Audrey Hepburn). Either way, the pixie-haired woman is an individual, a non-conformist, and a fearless rule-breaker. Let’s face it, it takes a certain amount of sass to pull off a short hairdo!

Example two: Curls versus straight hair:

Curly haired girls are seen as fun-loving and warm-hearted. Also regarded as fiery, passionate, and with a tendency to be drama queens. They’ll be judged as flighty, and are thought to have difficulty focussing on one thing at a time.

A woman whose mane is poker-straight, sleek, and glossy, is known as a perfectionist and a control freak. She is the ultimate conservative professional who likes to play by the rules.

If you have naturally straight hair that you curl all the time, you’re craving more excitement and fun in your life. Conversely, straighten curly hair, and this says your life is chaotic and you seek order and calm around you.

There’s a lot more than the above instances we’ve covered here, so feel free to do some research of your own. One more little thing: as an aside, it’s good to keep an open mind about these sorts of things, and remember that usually, it’s always better to not judge a book by its cover.
